Weekly Wrap + Five Facts for Friday {3.16.12}

I hope you all have enjoyed a bit of sunshine this week. Even though the winter has been mild here in Northeast Ohio, we’ve heartily welcomed spring in these parts. I love hearing the neighborhood kids playing outside…a sure sign that the seasons are changing!

I want to mention a couple of special needs-related items that might be of interest to you…

Our friend, Laura Haas from Faith Family Church in Canton, OH, wrote to us this week about a very cool event! She said,

The MCEC (Malone Council for Exceptional Children) is a student organization for Malone University education majors committed to connecting with, and serving, families blessed with kids with exceptionalities here in the greater Stark County area. They are hosting their third annual FREE Campus Carnival for Kids for children with special needs (ages 12 and under) and their elementary school-aged siblings to enjoy two hours of fun, games, sports activities, snacks, and prizes.

And, we’re proud of our friend, Jolene Philo, whose new book, Different Dream Parenting, has been nominated as Favorite Special Needs Parenting book of the year. Click here for more information, and please VOTE for Jolene!!

And now…

Five Facts for Friday

1. Goodbye, Encyclopedia Britannica, and thanks for helping students everywhere to love research.
2. I think Killer Whales are some of the most beautiful creatures in the world. I could, however, do without wolf spiders.
3. What I wanted to hear at the dermatologist this week: “Your skin is flawless and young-looking!” What I actually heard: “You could really use some extra moisturizer.”
4. Break a leg to the CFHS Cast and Crew of Fiddler on the Roof…SO PROUD of you. 5. Favorite first-sign of spring=crocuses. Yours?
